The trace customer visibly concerns itself with looking for, protection and the evaluating of scientific and other visible or to making indications or indications, which stand in connection with a criminal offence.

Trace customer in the Kriminalistik

This topic goes the far beyond analysis for example from finger marks or blood-pure and its own scientific-technologic discipline became. Within the police authorities and the recognition services are busy particularly trained Kriminalbeamte and scientist with the looking for, protection and (partly) the evaluating of kriminalistischer traces.

Kriminalisti traces must be examined and judged with capital crimes by an expert of the respective KTI (Kriminaltechni Institut), over it the appraisal provided. With smaller crimes (e.g. Break-down, theft, irregularities) the officials of the Kriminalpolizeilichen Sofortbearbeitung of the respective agency are usually sufficient to the trace safety device. The Kriminaltechni institutes of the Lands of the Federal Republic employ particularly trained Kriminaltechniker as experts for the trace evaluation. In particular the ranges Serologie, Daktyloskopie, ballistics, writing and document analysis as well as chemistry and toxicology are not with Kriminalbeamten, but occupies primarily with scientists, who enjoyed usually a kriminalistische further training. In Lower Saxony "“Kriminaltechni Institut"” (KTI) exists since the reorganization of the state criminal police agency Lower Saxony on 1 January 2006 as department 5 in this authority.

Meaning of traces in other fields of activity

Also in the archaeology, Zoologie and paleontology often with comparable methods and functions as in the Kriminalistik one proceeds. Examples are
