Transportation packing after "§ 3 of the packing regulation is packing, which serves goods on the way from the manufacturer to the dealer (wholesale, retail trade) or up to the final consumer.

  • Principal purposes of the transportation packing exist in the protective function of the commodity and the cost minimizing with given product protection.
  • Secondary objectives are the handling and a comfortable disposal, as well as suitability for goods returned and the indulgence of resources (no disproportion from packing to the commodity).

In accordance with "§ 3 exp. 1 sentence 1 of the packing regulation rank barrels, can, crates, bags including pallets, cardboard boxes, foamed bowls, shrink wrappings and similar casings among transportation packing.

Examples of transportation packing are:

  • Pasteboard pallets and foils as packing for beverage doses
  • Crates for capital goods, like e.g. Machines, engines etc.
  • Boxes and foils, which serve as packing material for furniture
  • Boxes, in which a larger number of items of a commodity is summarized, like e.g. Tooth paste tubes, canned goods.

According to packing regulation the manufacturers are obligated starting from 1 December 1991 to the cancelling of the packing, which must be supplied to a material recycling.
