• Turf was a cigarette mark in the GDR during the 50's. Turf gave it as 20's, 10-er and 5-er to packing and of the steeped in tradition Jasmatzi Cigarettenfabrik, late VEB Jasmatzi Dresden was manufactured, which came up 1959 in the united cigarette factories Dresden. The 20's-packing cost 2.00 DM, a 10-er according to 1.00 DM, the 5-er of 50 Pfennig. Turf gave it as dark-green packing with a white signature and as white packing with green signature.

An at that time popular idiom in connection with this cigarette mark read: There "„see to her the graves in the valley! Those are the smokers of Turf and material! "“. This saying there was later modified also with club and Real.Es gives however still another further saying, in which the name Turf was reinterpreted as "„Thuringia under Russian Fuchtel "“.
