The upper Csm (Abk.: OStFw; in lists OSF) designates in Germany a soldier in the highest sergeant rank with the German Federal Armed Forces.
At the German navy this rank is called upper staff boat man.
Soldiers in this rank can give crews and NCOs without Portepee of instructions within the borders set by the superior regulation (VorgV). Its paying stage corresponds to A9mA (mA with office extra pay).
