Upper leading seaman (OMaat or OMt) designates a soldier in the secondarylowest NCO rank in Germany with the German Federal Armed Forces within the German navy. In the other armed services this rank is called junior sergeant. Belonging one of the group of careers of the officers do not go through this rank usually.

Soldiers in this rank can give crews of instructions within the borders set by the superior regulation (VorgV).
