In addition one steers a line male (Vibri) on a line, on which obstacles emerge. Altogether there are four different obstacles, which are assigned to a controller key in each case: Wall, loop, hole and wave. Besides there are still four further obstacles, which represent compositions of the "“basic obstacles"”. If one creates it to error free pass a certain number of obstacles then the play figure gets angel wings and the obstacles mastered afterwards give points of extra in the final account. If one makes however more than nine errors, then the play figure in the evolution is back-gradated and one becomes first a frog and locking a worm. If one masters however a certain number of obstacles without errors, then one can ascend again to a "“Vibri"”. Altogether it gives three different level, which applies to play it to the end: Bronze, silver and gold.

Music

The sound TRACK of Vib Ribbon was composed by the group of Laugh and Beats. A special feature of Vib Ribbon is it that one can also insert play CD instead of that arbitrary music CD into the Playstation and the play generates a specific "“obstacle Parcour"” afterwards due to the characteristic of the music, which one can play then. Due to the limited Playstation of memory entire graphics is very minimalistic held and consists only of lines. This gives however an unmistakable style, which partly continues in the successors, Mojib Ribbon and Vib Riple to the play.
