The WDR Mediagroup GmbH is a subsidiary of the West German broadcast. It was created 1958 under the name West German commercial television GmbH (WWF).
The WWF was a regional television program of the WDR at the transmission place of the pool of broadcasting corporations, of which from Monday to Friday previous evening one radiated.
In this time on the one hand self-produced series (detective office Roth, port detective, large city district, on axle) were sent, US series A-team, Remington Steele to Simon & Simon) and other productions (the treasure in the universe), on the other hand culture program.
Also the culture program of the WWF was filled with a number of own productions - of the world premiere of Kurt Weills Huckleberry Finn (1964) with texts of Maxwell Anderson one over the mini series in the shrubs of Mexico - the mystery B. Each Friday the show WWF club produced with the WDR in Cologne was shown from 1980 to 1990. This was jump board for the television careers of moderators such as of the lip or Marijke Amado.
Only in the time window previous evening program was permitted it to platzieren to advertisement. The Reklamespots of the WWF was loosened up in addition still by small intermediate films (indication trick figures Schmitz&Schmitzchen, Ute, Schnute, Kasimir).
2004 took place renaming in WDR Mediagroup.
