Sir William Jenner (* 30 January 1815 in Chatham, Kent; "† 11 December 1898 in Greenwood, Hampshire) was a British neurologist and physician. He discovered the difference between abdomen typhoid fever and typhus fever.

Life

William Jenne studied college in London at the University and became a member of the Royal college OF Surgeons (1837) and the Royal college OF Physicians (1852). Its training as the physician it terminated 1844. 1847 began it its work on the Londoner fever hospital where it also the difference between abdomen typhoid fever (typhoid fever abdominalis) and typhus fever (typhoid fever levissimus od. typhoid fever ambulatorius) discovered. 1849 he was appointed the professor for pathological anatomy at the University college in London (one its pupil was Sir William Richard Gowers there) and the Assistenzarzt at the University college hospital. There he worked from 1854 on as a physician. it received the cross-beam Professur for clinical medicine to 1860. Between 1881 and 1888 he was a president of the Royal college OF Physicians; 1864 he was appointed the member of the Royal Society. It received the University OF Oxford, the University OF Cambride and the University the OF Edinburgh. 1862 he became a treating physician of queen Victoria; 1863 that of the prince of Wales and healed it from the typhus fever. 1868 he was appointed the Baronet.
