Work designates the result of a purposeful effort per time unit in the economics with certain work quality.
The work can be measured as productivity, as far as outputs and inputs are measurable. To note one should here that the productivity is a purely quantitative size. can be compared at the best one within an industry and/or with same activity (homogeneity (equality) of the conditions of work)
Example: Shoemaker company A and B compare its productivity:
Here are the manufactured shoes of the outputs (result of working) and the assigned working hours of the inputs (work input).
Computation of the productivity through:
Result: The productivity factor is thus with shoemaker A with 10 to regard and with B with 15.
The simple example makes clear, which is not to be seen with very high numbers always at first sight, which enterprise more productively works.
\ mathrm {Produktivit \ ddot RK \ (achievement)} = \ frac {\ mathrm {outputs}} {\ mathrm {inputs}}
A comparison between different industries is however possible with the calculation of production costs:
Example: A shoemaker and an author compare their economy:
Computation of economy through:
Result: The shoemaker worked more economically than the author.
An economically working enterprise will exhibit therefore a factor more largely than 1.0.
