The Workflow management Coalition (WfMC) was created 1993 and is a group of more than 300 manufacturers, users, advisors and scientists in the range of the Workflow management.

Principal purpose of the WfMC is the establishment of a Workflow of reference model, and the associated XML Process definition LANGUAGE (XPDL) as well as Web service minutes Wf-XML. The WfMC supports likewise the graphic Businesses Process Modeling notation (BPMN) with XPDL.
